Chinese Medicine Techniques for Turning Breech Babies
- When moxibustion doesn’t work, there are points that can be used to turn babies. However, points that are strong enough to turn a baby are also strong enough to induce labor. These points can be used in such a way that it is unlikely to induce labor.
- It is essential to work with an acupuncturist who specializes in
pregnancy when considering using these points so they can be done as
safely as possible.
- There are risks associated with using points that are strong enough
to turn babies and induce labor. Parents should be informed and consent
to the risks when considering using these points. Clients should NOT
use practitioners who fail to provide informed consent to their clients
regarding the use of “forbidden points.”
* It has been recognized since ancient times that certain
“forbidden points” can move too much energy through the uterus and
pelvic floor. These points can be used safely by a trained practitioner
who understands what they do.
